I made a one-minute trailer for Current, with small fragments of songs from the album, the first real glimpse into the sounds of this project.

You’ll hear pieces of voice, water, electronics, boat sounds, stillness, movement, and the musicians who joined me on the Dutch waterways. Giving you a sneak peak into the album.

Current was recorded on my tiny 1951 Dutch sailboat, De Vouw, using songs, layered vocals, field recordings, and the sounds of the water itself. Instead of going into a traditional studio, I brought the music outside: onto the boat, into the wind, between reeds, birds, locks, waves, creaking wood, and all the unpredictable sounds of the water. This trailer gives a first glimpse into the process behind the album: the sailing, the recording, the stillness, the chaos, and the strange beauty of making music with the elements.

The album features voice, electronics, field recordings, and acoustic instruments, with Hermine Deurloo on harmonica, Susanne Alt on saxophone, and Adinda Meertins on bass.
